COURSE OFFERED:    B.A. and B.Com.

Eligibility: For the admission to B.A. and B.Com. Part-I the candidate must have passed the Pre-University second year examinations of PUC Board of Karnataka or any other examination recognized as equivalent by the Karnatak University, Dharwad.

 Pattern of Study: Semester System 

Duration of the Courses:  3 (three) years with 6 Semesters.  

B.A. Part-I (I & II Semester) 

Ø     First Basic: English

Ø     Second Basic:  Any one of the following languages:Kannada / Urdu / Hindi

        Ø     Optional Subjects: The students shall offer any one of the following subject combinations

B.A. Part-II (III & IV Semester)

The Students have to study the same subjects (Basic & Optional) offered in B.A. Part-I class.

 B.A. Part-III (V & VI Semester) 

Basic Language :  In V & VI Semester the students have to study only one  basic language for 100 marks from any of the following: Kannada / Hindi / Urdu / Add. English  

Optional Subjects: The students have to study the same optional subjects studied in the previous classes but there are two papers (Paper-I & paper-II) for each optional subject. (Each paper carrying 100 marks, total 600 marks for optional subject papers.)

 Examinations:  (For B.A. & B.Com.) 

Maximum of 100 marks will be awarded for each paper. The University will conduct examination of three hours duration with maximum marks of 80 for each paper. There shall be an Internal Assessment Marks carrying 20 marks in respect of each paper. For the Internal Marks two tests will be conducted at the college level, each test for 10 marks. For the odd number semesters (I, III & V) IA tests will be in the months of September and November; and the University Examinations in the month of December; and even number semester (II, IV & VI) IA tests will be in the months of February and April; and University Examinations will be in the month of May every academic year.
